Jeanne Marie (Hickey)Urish, 64 of Scranton, KS passed away peacefully on Jan. 28,2023 at Midland Hospice in Topeka, after a nearly 3 yr battle with cancer.

She was born September 29, 1958 in Topeka to John R. and Veronica Hickey.

She graduated from Washburn Rural High School in 1976.

Jeanne married Ken Urish on November 7, 1981 at Scranton, KS.

She leaves behind a heartbroken family and a group of lifelong friends.

Survivors are her husband, Ken, daughter Jamie Inglett (Rick), grandson Ricky Inglett of Topeka and son Blair of Seattle, WA. Other survivors are her sisters Pat, Carolyn, and brother Keith. Nieces Stacy, Tracy, and their children, and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Kenneth.

Jeanne was a selfless, caring person and an amazing mother to her children. Caring for family was her passion in life.

She retired from USD 434 in 2019 where she had worked for many years and touched the lives of many young people.

Unfortunately, cancer struck her only 6 months after her retirement. She fought a brave battle and had a short time in remission when it looked like she would win. However, it returned and took her from us. We will forever cherish the memories we have of her.
