Robert O. “Bob” Brunkow, 82, Topeka, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2023.

Bob was born May 2, 1940 in Duluth, KS, the son of Lorenz and Corinthia (Ipson) Brunkow. He graduated from Onaga High School.

He served in the Kansas Army National Guard.

He was employed in the maintenance department with USD-501 for 31 years, retiring in 1997. He also worked in the maintenance department at American Home Life.

He enjoyed going on cruises, fishing, going to farm shows and watching the weather channel.

Survivors include daughter, Peggy (Bob) Rhoades; sister, Loretta (Duane) Wege; ex-wife, Linda Bahret; companion, Carol Emmerling and her son, Brandon; and God-son, Eddy (Summer) Anderson and their children, Tia, Kaleb and Colton. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Byron Brunkow; and sisters, Wanda Carroll and Judy Motte.

Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 11. 2023 at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Dove Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road from 10:00 a.m. until noon prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice
