1936 - 2023

Walter B. "Burt" Peck, 87, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023 at a Rossville care facility. He was born January 17, 1936 in Topeka, the son of Howard and Alpha (Stamm) Peck.

Burt attended Highland Park High School and graduated from Randleman High School in North Carolina in 1954. He was employed as a salesman for various milk companies for many years before retiring. Burt was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was an avid race fan with an infectious personality and enjoyed attending both the Indy 500 and the Daytona 500.

Survivors include children, Debbie Peck of Emporia, Vicki (Steve) Crockett of Topeka, two grandchildren, his brother, Ed (Sammy) Peck of Tecumseh and two nephews and three nieces.

Burt was preceded in death by his sister, Connie (Peck) Hull.

The family would like to thank the staff of Rossville Health Care and Rehabilitation and Prairie Wind Hospice for the care and compassion that was shown to Burt.

A Celebration of Burt's Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Private inurnment will take place in Bethel Cemetery at later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 2020 W 89th St., Suite 100, Leawood, Kansas 66206.
