Connie Joyce Knodel, 73, of Topeka, passed away Monday, March 6, 2023.

She was born March 12, 1949, in Pierre, South Dakota, the daughter of Orval Arnold and A. Arlene (Hanson) Knodel.

Connie was employed by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas for 30 years, retiring in 2008.

Survivors include her father Orval Arnold Knodel of Topeka; siblings Debra Guay (Lynn) of Topeka, Elaine Gingrich (Mark) of Topeka, and Orval Knodel II of Grantville; seven nieces and nephews; 14 great-nieces and great-nephews; and four great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother A. Arlene Knodel; a brother-in-law, Bill Guay; nephew, John Guay; and a nephew-in-law, Dwayne Sebo.

In her retirement, Connie enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed bowling, cross-stitch and was an avid shopper.

Connie was cremated. A memorial ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 11th at the Mount Hope Cemetery and Funeral Chapel, 4700 SW 17th Street in Topeka. The family will receive friends for an hour prior to the service at the Mount Hope Chapel. A private interment will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Helping Hands Humane Society, 5720 SW 21st Street, Topeka, KS 66604.
