Mary Catherine Heath passed away on the evening of March 10, 2023. She ultimately succumbed in the end, to multiple cancers and to having lived a long life. Mary K, to those who knew her, was born Mary Catherine Fife on September 16, 1945. Family lore is that she never met her father, Hollis Fife, as he would go on to die in the Great War. She married her first husband, Herbert T. Crawshaw, in August of 1961. He would pass in September 1976. Mary K. married her second husband in 1980. Though that marriage would only last a little over 4 years, I believe they kept in loose contact until he died some years later. Her mother, Dorothy Fife passed on in October 1989, after helping raise her two children.
Mary K. married Gary Heath in 1987. At the time he was her third husband, and he had more ex-wives than you could count on one hand. It was said at the time they would be married until one of them died. That is how it went as Gary left us in mid-November 2022.
Mary K. Heath saw a lot of death in her life. There were many other family members and close friends who passed on before her. That’s the way it goes when you live a long full life. As the end was near, she was comforted by her daughter Debra, son Tommie, and her son-in-law Craig. She is survived by six grandchildren: grandsons Garrett, Justin, and Chance along with great-granddaughter Sara from Deb and Craig; grandson Cody and granddaughter Jordan from Tommie. She will be greatly missed by many more whose lives she touched.
Honoring her request, cremation is planned. No services are planned. Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel in Topeka is assisting the family.
