Ray D. Homan, 83, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023.

He was born March 31, 1940, in St. Mary's, Kansas, the son of John and Ragina (McCormick) Homan. He graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1959.

Ray was employed by the City of St. Mary's as a patrol officer for 38 years. He also worked for the Topeka State Hospital until 1996.

Ray married Donna Harr on May 9, 1981 in the Rose Garden in Topeka. She preceded him in death on May 29, 2014.

Survivors include his son Ron Saegert of Topeka; and grandson Jesse Saegert of Topeka. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Ray enjoyed following and listening to sports and motorsports, fishing, walking and he could talk to anyone. He loved being outside.

A public visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Friday, May 26th at the Dove Cremations and Funerals Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road in Topeka. Cremation will follow the ceremony. A graveside inurnment service will be at a future date at Memorial Park Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Avenue in Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606.
