Lawrence Harold Anderson, 86, of Tecumseh, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2023.

He was born December 9, 1936, in Buffalo, Kansas, the son of Lloyd H. and Leola M. (Peninger) Anderson. He grew up in Burlington, Kansas and moved to Council Grove, where he graduated from Council Grove High School in 1954. He served in the National Guard 714th Maintenance from 1954 to 1993. He was employed as a heavy equipment inspector for the Kansas National Guard, retiring in 1993.

Lawrence married Carolyn Beshears on April 14, 1978 in Topeka. She survives, along with his children Cynthia Rhodes (David) of Americus, KS, Ryan Anderson (Stacey) of Lawrence, KS, Kevin Anderson (Angie) of Topeka, and Douglas Beshears of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren Ashlee Anderson, Hailey Anderson, Amy Herl, Angela Herl, Greg Young, and Josh Beshears; and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Gilbert Anderson and sister Sharon Grafel.
Larry enjoyed KU basketball, the Kansas City Chiefs, golf, fishing, bowling, camping, and scaring the grandkids.

A public visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 5th at Dove Cremations and Funerals Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Avenue in Topeka. Cremation will follow. A private graveside inurnment service will be at West Lawn Memorial Gardens, 820 S.W. Auburn Road in Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606.
