James Edward Hoffman, Jr. 86, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2023.
He was born October 8, 1936, in Marysville, Kansas, the son of James Edward Hoffman Sr. and Alice (Sloan) Hoffman. He graduated from Marysville High School and received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Kansas.
Jim was employed by the Kansas Department of Transportation as a supervisor, retiring in 1993.
Jim married Leslie Colhouer in 1968. She preceded him in death in 1997. Survivors include his brother-in-law, Gary Christian of Topeka. He was preceded in death by his son Jas Hoffman in 1990.
Jim loved animals and gave to the Humane Society. He was a good friend.
Jim was cremated. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Memorial Park Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, KS 66606.
