In Memory Of
Linda Kay Clark
1959 - 2023

Linda Kay Clark, 64, of Topeka, passed away Friday, August 11, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born April 17, 1959, in Independence, Kansas, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Herndon) Clark.

Linda was employed by the Department of Revenue of Kansas for many years. Following that she began working as a receptionist for the Midwest Barber College. During the COVID pandemic, she left her receptionist job to help care for her grandson.

Survivors include daughters, Laurie Gomel (Thad Havenstein), and Michelle (Michael) Cosie, grandchildren, Michael Cosie Jr., and Jace Havenstein, her sister, and various nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Scott Gomel, and her brother, Gerald “Jerry” Clark.

Linda loved her children and always looked forward to spending time with her family. She had a strong will and was a supportive and caring mother, grandmother, and friend. She was known as “fluent in sarcasm” always up for a good laugh. She looked forward to social events with friends, shopping to keep up her good fashion sense, decorating her home and yard, planning her Halloween parties where she could listen to music and dance, and spending time outdoors where she enjoyed gardening. She had a love for animals and rescued a few of her own, her cat Sylvester, and her two dogs Roscoe and Zeek. Her experience in bartending for over 20 years introduced her to the pool hall leagues where she was a fierce pool shark. Taking after her brother, she became an avid KU Basketball fan, and Chiefs fan. She looked forward to game days.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday August 21, 2023 at Dove Cremations and Funerals Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road, Topeka, KS 66610. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Rochester Cemetery in Topeka. The family welcomes friends to join them for a reception following the interment.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society, 5720 SW 21st St, Topeka, KS 66604, or the KU Medical Center Endowment address to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, 3901 Rainbow Blvd, Mail Stop 3012, Kansas City, KS 66160.
