Our mothers I know were friends when we both lived on Mission Avenue. Kerry used to stay with us when your mom went to work before we moved. I knew your family mainly through Amy when we both played Trumpet at Topeka West. I came to West as a junior and Amy was one of the first to welcome me, I believe as a squad leader for a group of our trumpets. Amy was a wonderful person and a solid trumpet player. I am sure her excellent character was due in large part to Betsy. My condolences to your family, Number 6;24-26 to you all.

Betsy was such a stalwart and supportive member of St. David’s. I remember Betsy from my childhood as a Sunday Schoolteacher. In later adulthood, during the Covid pandemic, I had the honor of serving on the Vestry (mostly over Zoom) with Betsy. She was so good natured and kind-hearted. For being such a tiny person in body, she had not a huge, overwhelming presence, but a consistent presence— a friendly and welcoming presence. I know her health had had lots of ups and downs in recent years, but she was persistent and determined and kept bouncing back. I think that’s why I’m still somewhat shocked and definitely sad that we will not be seeing Betsy in church anymore. She will be greatly missed. However I know her spirit will be with us, and I’m happy for her that she is now at peace with our Lord. I pray that her beautiful family will feel God’s peace and be comforted during this difficult time.

I am just one of the many Tri Deltas who loved and admired Betsy. She had a deep regard for people.
Betsy had spunk! She never went out without looking her best. But, that was Betsy……she was the best!

Betsy was always a ray of sunshine to me.
I had the honor of doing her hair for many years through her ups and downs. She was always so proud of her girls and said so many times how much she loved and appreciated them. She would be just bursting with happiness when a new grand baby or great grand baby . She just loved all the weddings and holidays so much as she was going to get to be with family. I will cherish all the memories.

Betsy was a dear friend! And my best Avon customer! We so enjoyed visiting on the phone and in person. We had so much in common as we were both teachers, loved our families and had a deep faith in God. She loved life and had a great spunky attitude, even though her health wasn’t always good.
I’m already missing her terribly! I look forward to our reunion someday- hopefully we can each have a Coke and some Sonic onion rings while we catch up!
I’m home sick with Covid and won’t be able to come to her service tomorrow. Is the service being streamed or recorded?
Much love to her family. I loved and will miss my “Aunt Betsy”!

Betsy was a wonderful, thoughtful, caring member of our St. David's family. She was always willing to share a memory about her life here. Betsy could tell you details of every event that ever happened at St. David's and recite the names of every priest that served here, in order, of course. She will be missed so much. We have lost a living legend.

I first met Betsy when I worked at McCrites and she was a resident there. I knew from the start what a beautiful lady she was.
After she moved into her beautiful home and I had moved to Colorado, we became long-distance friends. I always enjoyed going to her house when I came back to Topeka. We had such great conversations - sharing old memories, laughing, and talking about so many things. We always had fun trying to take a good "selfie"of ourselves :)
Betsy, I will miss you and your lovely smile and our great conversations. See you on the other side. Love you, my friend .

What wonderful memories our family has of this wonderful Christian lady that graced our lives. Her friends and family will feel a lasting loss now that she has passed. But most importantly her family will have all the memories that live in those she loved. All the children she taught in school and all the little ones she held in her arms, she did so with love. Betsy had integrity, compassion, and courage and enriched the lives of those she encountered. Living a life that maters doesn’t happen by accident! It happens by choice. You were loved GB and you did good.

Betsy was such a devoted friend. She took me in when I started at St. David’s and was a friendly face every Sunday. I will miss talking to her and rooting on the Jayhawks with her.

We are saddened to hear of the passing of a wonderful inspiring lady. Betsy was such a devoted mom and grandmother to her family. We were blessed to have taught her daughters and to know Betsy. Betsy cared so much about her students and that was evident everyday in her classroom. We thinking and saying an extra prayer for her family. Mike &Patti Goehring

Amy and family. I send to you my heart, thoughts and prayers in the passing of your mother. I hope you are doing as well as can be expected.
My God send you all the comforting Angels that you need, for as long as you need them.

I had the pleasure of working with Betsy during some HH rehabilitation over the years. By far one of my most favorite clients to see. She always made such great progress because not only were our visits productive from a physical strengthening aspect, but I really do think the personal relationship you develop invests you in the patient as a whole not just the diagnosis you are treating her for at the time. There was never a dull moment with Betsy, I loved to see what cute outfit she would have on when I arrived. She had the best personality, I always saved her for last because I knew she would be a beaming ball of light when I got to see Ms. Betsy! My deepest sympathies to Betsy's girls that she loved so dearly as well as her whole family!

Betsy was an active Tri Delta. She became a member at Kansas University and maintained her membership as an alumna for the rest of her life. All of her Topeka sisters loved and enjoyed her as she attended every Topeka Tri Delta Alumnae Meeting. She was always cheerful, positive and spunky. She held every office including, most recently, courtesy, which meant she would keep all of us informed about which members needed our attention due to illness, crisis or other life changing situation. This was appropriate for her due to her ever caring, loving nature. We will miss her forever!
