Albert W. "Al" Haag, 86, of Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. He was born April 12, 1939 in Denison, Kansas, the son of Ivan and Helen (Baumgardt) Haag.
Al graduated from Topeka High School. He joined the Kansas National Guard and transferred into the Army Reserves. Al was employed by Adams Business Forms for 44 years before retiring. He was a member of California Acres Church of Christ where he served as a Deacon. He enjoyed walleye fishing and was a member of the Kansas Walleye Association for over 17 years.
Al married Nelda A. Gilmer on August 19, 1960 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Julie Haag of Topeka, and his brother, Ivan Haag, Jr. of Tucson, Arizona.
Al was preceded by his five siblings, Ruth Ingersoll, Virginia “Ginny” Porteous, Sharon Kay Haag, Suzy Haag and Joyce Thompson.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 26, 2025 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the California Acres Church of Christ, 2200 SE 21st St., Topeka, Kansas 66607.
