Allen Dale McCasland, 75, of Topeka, passed away on July 4, 2025, at the Kansas Medical Center.
He was born on March 17, 1950, in Brownwood, Texas the son of Mavis (Maxine) Allen (McCasland) Taylor and Dale Vernon McCasland. Allen grew up in Rogers, Arkansas, where he attended Rogers Middle School and High School. He was an active athlete, participating in football, basketball, and track.
Allen worked in excavation throughout his life, gaining extensive experience in the field. He worked for various companies and, at one time, owned Brush Creek Excavation, where he was known for his dedication and craftsmanship. His work ethic and expertise earned him respect in the industry and among his peers.
On June 17, 2017, Allen married Deborah McCasland. They built a loving home in Topeka, Kansas, where they shared their lives with their beloved dog, Peaches. Allen enjoyed spending time outdoors, often working on projects around the house, tinkering with his truck, or maintaining their yard. He had a passion for music, particularly enjoying the sounds of Willie Nelson, and was an avid football fan. Above all, he cherished the quality time spent with his wife, creating lasting memories together.
Allen is survived by his loving wife, Deborah; daughters Angie Cater and Tess Zach; son Kim McCasland; brothers Danny McCasland and Kenneth McCasland; stepbrother Jeff (Buster) Taylor; stepsisters Debbie Webb and Rhonda Archer; many nieces and nephews; and several grandchildren, along with other family members who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Maxine (McCasland) Taylor and Dale Vernon McCasland, as well as his stepfather Bob Taylor. Allen's spirit and love for life will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A private Celebration of Allen's life will be held at a later date. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
