Angel Roberto Oquendo Lugo

Angel Roberto Oquendo Lugo, 49, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026. He was born December 10, 1976 in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Rafael Oquendo and Lucy Lugo.

Angel graduated from Central High School in St. Croix, Virgin Islands. He served in the US Army from 1994 - 1997. Angel then earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from DeVry University. He was employed by as an IT Specialist.

Survivors include five children, Khallel Oquendo of Georgetown, Texas, Kamil Oquendo of Georgetown, Texas, Zakai Oquendo of Topeka, Angel "AJ" Oquendo, Jr. of Topeka, Saraiah Oquendo of Topeka, his mother, Lucy Lugo of Kissimmee, Florida and his siblings, Rafael Oquendo of Puerto Rico, Bridalia Oquendo of Florida, Miguel Oquendo of Spain, Angela Oquendo of Florida and Luz Oquendo of Florida.

A Celebration of Angel's Life will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2026 at the Gil Carter Initiative, 2600 SE 23rd St., Topeka, Kansas 66605. Private inurnment will take place in Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kansas at a later date.

Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family with service arrangements.
