Anna Schwartz, a beloved member of the Topeka community, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on May 22, 1943, in Richmond, Kansas, Anna touched the lives of many during her time on this earth.
First and foremost, Anna devoted herself to raising her children, fostering a nurturing environment filled with love and support. She also made significant contributions as a co-owner of A&J Conoco on 17th and Fairlawn, where she enjoyed engaging with customers and offering her help to anyone in need. Her natural warmth and cheerful disposition drew people in, making her a cherished figure among patrons.
Anna’s education began at Ottawa High School, from which she graduated in 1961. This foundation sparked her lifelong love for reading. Throughout the years, she also developed a passion for needlepoint, a hobby she enjoyed throughout her life.
In her personal life, Anna cherished family gatherings, putting a great emphasis on reunions and holiday celebrations, particularly at Christmas time. She was known for her loving spirit and sense of humor, often bringing joy to all those around her. Anna cared deeply for her children, and her proudest accomplishments included her children and grandchildren, whom she adored immensely.
A faithful member of CrossRoads Wesleyan Church, Anna dedicated over 40 years of service, contributing to the children's ministry and mission teams. Her commitment to her church and her community reflected her loving nature and desire to uplift those around her.
Anna is survived by her husband of 62 years, Alan J. Schwartz; daughter Paula M. (David) Alejos of Topeka; sons Richard E. (Stacy) Schwartz of Lawrence and William A. (Tina) Schwartz of Lawrence; and grandchildren Vincent N. (Dana) Kelly, Joseph D. (Codi) Kelly, Gavin L. Alejos, Corey A Alejos, Kyle R Johnson, Elise G. Johnson, and Michael A. Schwartz. She was also a great-grandmother to Rory V. Kelly.
Anna leaves behind her brothers Lyle Adcock and Roger Adcock, as well as her sisters Jane Harper and Esther Hopkins. She was preceded in death by her parents William Adcock and Etta Wynona Stewart and her brothers Tom Adcock, James Adcock, Raymond Adcock, and William Adcock.
A visitation will be held on December 20, 2025, at CrossRoads Wesleyan Church in Topeka, beginning at 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM and a burial at 2:00 PM. The church is located at 2030 SE 41st ST Topeka 66609.
Anna Schwartz's legacy of love, laughter, and community service will live on in the hearts of her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her joyful spirit and caring nature will be greatly missed.
