Barbara Guerrero Giardina, 79, of Topeka, passed away Monday, June 29, 2026.
She was born January 3, 1947, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Florenzio and Melvina (Mattawashe) Guerrero. She graduated from Topeka High School.
Barbara was a member of the Prairie Band Pottawatomie Nation.
Barbara married Salvatore Giardina on February 27, 1969, in Topeka, Kansas. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include daughter Michelle (Felix) Anguiano; grandson, Mariano Anguiano; son Christopher (Leosha) Giardina; grandchildren Makhala Giardina, Dasani Giardina, Sonia Giardina, Andres Giardina, and Princess; great-grandson Tyrone Jones Jr; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother Edith; parents; brothers Lawrence and David Guerrero; and two godmothers, Rosetta Anderson and Ophelia Nicholson
Barbara loved tending to her rose gardens, cooking, and was an amazing artist. She was a seamstress, and enjoyed arts and crafts. She dedicated her whole life to taking care of her family.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at Mount Hope Chapel, 4700 SW 17th Street, Topeka. Entombment will follow the service.
