Listen to Obituary

Billie McKinley, 85, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a family who loved her dearly.

Billie lived in Kansas for many years, where she made deep roots and amazing friends. During a full career devoted to helping children, she focused special attention on those who needed an advocate. She especially loved little Megan. She later moved to Iowa to be closer to her family. Throughout her life, Billie found great joy using her natural talent painting and sharing her creative work with those around her. She might also be one of the few people who never told a lie her entire life! Billie enjoyed several family vacation trips and above all, she treasured simple moments spent with family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Cindy, Shelly and Mark; her sister Eula; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Billie will be warmly remembered for her kind heart, sense of humor, beautiful smile, and devotion to her family.

In remembrance, today wear something in her favorite color, pink, and think about a time she made you smile.

Services will begin with a visitation from 10:00-11:00AM, and funeral at 11:00AM, Thursday, October 29, 2026 at Dove Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka, KS 66610. Billie will be laid to rest at Memorial Park immediately following the service.
