Bonnie J. Childers

Bonnie Jean Childers, 77, of Allen, Kansas, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2024.

She was born October 3, 1947, in Dallas, Texas, the daughter of Charles and Bonnie (Wheat) Maddux. She was a graduate of Reseda High School, Reseda, California.

Bonnie was employed by Kaiser Permanente Hospital as a unit secretary in Woodland Hills, California until retiring.

Bonnie married Daniel “Danny” Childers on November 19, 1967, at the Chapel in the Canyon in Canoga Park, California. He preceded her in death on June 7, 2022. Survivors include her son, Matt Childers and his significant other, Claudia Carrillo, of Woodland Hills, CA; her sister, Becky Fisher of Allen, KS; and her nephew, Chris Fisher, of Las Vegas, NV.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Bonnie was a dedicated wife and mother. She loved entertaining, cooking holiday meals and her and Danny threw some great Super Bowl parties. She enjoyed sunbathing, gardening and her canine companions, Skipper, Scooter, Ashley and Rhett.

Honoring her request, cremation is planned. A celebration of Bonnie and Danny’s life will be held at a later date. Please check back for more information. Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel in Topeka is assisting the family.
