Bridget Jean Foster, a beloved Mother, Grandma, Great Grandmother and cherished member of the Topeka Bible church, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2025, at the age of 96, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 14, 1929, in Topeka, Kansas, Bridget dedicated her life to her family, her faith, and her work. Full obituary and service information will be published at a later date.
For over 60 years, Bridget, alongside her husband Byron Foster, owned and operated Hall Lithographing Company, a venture that showcased their unwavering dedication and hard work. Bridget often enjoyed walking around the production floor—gathering books and maps and managing the intricate processes of printing, folding, cutting, and assembling materials. Together, she and Byron created a thriving business that served their community and was a source of pride for their family.
Bridget’s legacy extends beyond her professional pursuits; she was known for her kindness, compassion, and an innate ability to care for others. She had an extraordinary talent for cooking, particularly known for her beloved pecan pie, which was a favorite among family and friends. Bridget made it a personal mission to ensure no one ever left her home hungry, often preparing meals with love and devotion.
Education was important to Bridget, who fondly reminisced about her childhood days spent playing outside in her German community known as Little Russia in Topeka. These early memories shaped the nurturing spirit she would carry throughout her life. As a devoted Christian, Bridget found strength and comfort in prayer and scripture, guiding her family with unwavering faith.
Bridget took immense joy in her role as a grandmother, creating special memories with her grandchildren, including magical trips to Disney World. There home in Branson Mo was a place full of many memories and fun times. She was deeply proud of her family, considering them her most cherished accomplishment. Throughout her life, she maintained close relationships with her daughters—Susan (Mike) Galbraith, Sharon Wright, Janet Norris, and Janis Roberts and supporting them through the many challenges and celebrations life presented. Bridget's selflessness continued into her later years, as she always made time to lend a helping hand to her children when they needed her.
Her love extended further to her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, whom she adored and with whom she made countless memories, whether cheering from the sidelines at baseball games or enjoying trips in the family RV.
Bridget is reunited in spirit with her beloved husband, Byron, with whom she shared over 60 years of marriage. She is also preceded in death by her daughter Dianna Bloom, son-in-law Jim Roberts, her parents Ralph and Mary Sommers, and her brothers and sisters: Pete, George, Michael, Joseph, Dorothy, Betty, Mildred, Marie, Barbara, Joann, Katherine, Agnes, Annie, and Helen.
Bridget Jean Foster’s warmth, love, and dedication to her family will be deeply missed by those who knew her. Her legacy of kindness and her vibrant spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege to call her family and friend.
