Candace Arlene Thompson, 72, of Topeka, passed away Friday, July 19, 2024.
She was born September 5, 1951, in Manhattan, Kansas, the daughter of Warren Loring Mahin and Verna Arlene Mahin. She graduated from Manhattan High School.
Candace married Albert Thompson on September 25, 1996 in Cabo, Mexico.
She attended Grace Episcopal Cathedral. Candace was a devoted member to Alcoholic Anonymous and had over 30 years of sobriety.
In her spare time, Candace enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was a master gardener and enjoyed spending time outdoors. She was a fan of music and cinema. She loved to be lakeside on her and Al’s houseboat at Lake Perry. Candace was an avid K-State Fan. She also had a knack for travel, especially by train. She explored all over the US, Mexico and Canada. she was an avid pet lover, particularly for German shepherds, but especially her German Shepherd, Bella; her Minpin Chihuahua mix, Mocha and her black cat, Moxie.
Candace leaves behind her husband, Al Thompson and two children, Michael Kinney and Roseanna Bradford.
