Chad A. Buchtel

Chad A. Buchtel, 58, of Olathe, formerly of Topeka, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025. He was born August 25, 1967 in Topeka, the son of Elmer A. and Charlotte A. (Gilman) Buchtel.

Chad graduated from Shawnee Heights High School in 1986 and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Finance from Emporia State University in 1992. He was employed by the Sprint Corporation.

Survivors include his parents, Elmer A. and Charlotte A. Buchtel of Topeka, two aunts, Donnalee Mounkes of Lyndon, Wanda Gardner of Huntsville, Texas and many cousins.

Chad had a love of sports and music. He was a warrior in his battle of cancer for eight years.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, and two aunts, Darlene Small and Miriam Miller.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. Graveside committal services will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Lincoln Cemetery, Lebo, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given for cancer research to the KSU Cancer Center, 1 Chalmers Hall, Manhattan, Kansas 66506.
