Charlene Renay Hess

Charlene Renay Hess of Topeka, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 13th at the age of 61.

She was born on April 16th, 1964 to Norman Markham and Maryann Zink in Deerborn, Michigan. She attended high school in Michigan, and graduated from Allen County Community College (ACCC), she had an associate degree in computer science.

She was married to Doyle K Hess in 1994, and together they shared 31 wonderful years.

Charlene Hess enjoyed painting on canvas, crocheting blankets and hats, reading romantic fantasy novels, solving puzzles, cooking for her family, and singing. She was known for being kind, caring, and understanding while being an excellent mother.

She is survived by siblings(Sherri and Joe), her sons (Ryan, and Doyle Jr.), her step daughters (Amber, Martikay, and Heather), her grandchildren (Mattew, Blaine, Levi, Kayne, and Austin), and her niece and nephew (Audrey and Alex).

A graveside service will be held at Vinland Cemetery in Vinland, KS on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.
