Charles M. VanHorn

Charles M. VanHorn, 83, of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. He was born June 29, 1942 in New York, New York, the son of James E. and Anna M. (Smart) VanHorn.

Charles was employed by the BNSF Railroad for 33 years before retiring.

Charles married Sung S. Yun on November 20, 1998 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include his step-sons, Patrick Johnson of Topeka, Nicholas Johnson of Topeka, and 5 grandchildren, Cadence, Paxton, Porter, Ava and Paisley.

A private Celebration of Charles's Life will be held at a later date. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, Kansas 66606.

Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family with service arrangements.
