Cheryl Ann Greer, 76, of Neodesha, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2025 with her loving family by her side.
She was born October 24, 1948, in Neodesha, Kansas, the daughter of Glenn and Frances (Dewald) Gidney. She received her Associate’s Degree in Psychology from Independence Community College.
Cheryl was employed by the Independence Public Library for many years. She was honored to be the girl scout troop leader of her daughter’s troop 446 for 4 years. She retired from her job at Arnold’s Prairie Greenhouse and More.
Cheryl married Maxmilan Edgar Greer on April 20, 1968 in Independence, Kansas. Together they ran their family owned cattle farm in Southeast Kansas for most of their adult lives. He preceded her in death on December 21, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, and granddaughter, Sydney Tate.
Survivors include daughter, Misty (Jeff) Tate; grandson, Lincoln Edgar Tate; granddaughter, Abigail Tate; brother, Michael Gidney; nieces, Audrey Thompson and Erica Schlegel; and her dog Amber.
Cheryl enjoyed reading, writing, crocheting, greenhouse work, cooking, walking, and spending time with grandchildren and family.
Cheryl’s wishes were for cremation. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. She will be laid to rest with her husband and granddaughter located at Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka, Kansas.
