Cheryl Jean Seals

Cheryl Jean Seals, 81, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026 at a Topeka hospital. She was born September 27, 1944 in Topeka, the daughter of John and Betty (McCarter) Meek.

Cheryl graduated from Highland Park High School in 1962. She was employed as an Administrative Assistant for the First Christian Church for 23 years before retiring. She was a member of West Side Christian Church.

Cheryl married Charles "Eddie" Seals on July 11, 1964 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on December 8, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Jo Ann Stevenson.

Survivors include children, Richard (Tara) Seals of Topeka, Tammy Seals of Topeka, three grandchildren, Samantha Seals, Hanah Seals, Kenzie Thompson, four great-grandchildren, Johnny, Amanda, Aiden and Daisy, and her brother, Richard Meek of Topeka.

A Celebration of Cheryl's Life will be held at West Side Christian Church and announced as soon as possible. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to West Side Christian Church, 432 SW Lindenwood Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66606.

Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family with service arrangements.
