Cindy J. Dillon

Cynthia Joy Rempel Dillon, known to most as Cindy, passed away on July 24, 2026, at the age of 65, joining her Lord and Savior in Heaven.

Cindy was born on May 27, 1961. She was lovingly raised by Herman and Eva Rempel in Meade, Kansas. She graduated from Meade High School in 1979 before attending the University of Kansas and later Washburn University School of Nursing. She married Matt Dillon, and together they raised four children.

She devoted her career to caring for others, first as a labor and delivery nurse at Stormont Vail Hospital and later as the school nurse at Jay Shideler Elementary School. Nursing was more than a profession to Cindy—it was a way to serve others with compassion and care.

Above all, Cindy loved her family. She was a devoted mother and a proud grandmother who cherished time with her children and granddaughter. The love she had for her family was constant, and it will remain with them always.

She is survived by her children, Brandi (Derek) Osburn, Nikki (Dominic) Thyfault, Kati Dillon, and Cody Dillon; her granddaughter, Piper Thyfault; and her sister, Jana Rempel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Eva Rempel.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 31, 2026, at Mount Hope Chapel, 4700 SW 17th St, Topeka, KS 66604. The family will welcome friends the hour prior to the service. Cindy will be laid to rest at Emmanuel Mennonite Cemetery in Meade, Kansas.

Cindy will be remembered for her caring nature, her dedication to others, her devotion to Christ, and the love she shared with her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
