Cindy L. Murrow, 77, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
She was born June 3, 1948, in Hutchinson, Kansas, the daughter of William F. “Bill” and Mary L. (Wyatt) Schafer. She was a 1966 graduate of Hutchinson High School.
Cindy was employed by First Southern Baptist Church, Rolling Hills Nursing Home, KMAJ Cumulus Media, Inc. and Blue Dot Plumbing & HVAC in Topeka until retiring.
She was a former member of Eastside Baptist Church and had been a member of First Southern Baptist Church since 1982.
Cindy married James H. “Jim” Murrow on June 6, 1970 in Hutchinson, Kansas. He survives in Topeka. Other survivors include her daughter, Chris (Jim) Driggers of Topeka; two sons, Corey Murrow of Lawrence, KS and Joshua Aaron (Jolene)Murrow of Trinity, AL; step-daughter, Robin (Terry) Towne of Iola, KS; seven grandchildren, Amanda Whitehead, Logan Burton, Chelsie Clare, Tanner Driggers, Emilie Driggers, Nicholas Murrow and Cameron Murrow; seven great-grandchildren, Jaxon Whitehead, Abbe Whitehead, Jace Clare, Jamison Clare, Jett Clare, Jack Clare and Karson Smith; and her brother, John (JoAnn) Schafer of Nixa, MO.
Cindy loved shopping with her girlfriends Janie Gray and Starlytt Rogers (the 3 chicks). Her hobbies were sewing and quilting.
The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 21, 2025 at the First Southern Baptist Church, 1912 SW Gage Blvd, Topeka, KS 66604, where a funeral ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Topeka. Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel in Topeka is assisting the family. 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka, KS.
