Claude E. Clark, 60, of Auburn, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026. He was born January 10, 1966 in Chateauroux, France, the son of Arthur L. and Maria C. (Morales) Clark.
Claude graduated from Highland Park High School in 1985. He then earned an HVAC certificate from Kaw Valley Votech. He was employed as a Topeka firefighter, obtaining the rank of Captain during his 32 years of service. For the past 28 years he was a member of Topeka Bible Church, where Claude and his family placed great importance on active ministry. Claude loved Jesus. He wasn’t afraid to share this with anyone who would listen. He took great satisfaction in knowing that his son and grandchildren chose that same path. Claude doted on them and cherished spending his free time with them. He excelled in everything mechanical and was an extremely hard worker. Never one to sit idly by when there was work to be done, he truly had a servant’s heart. He was quick to stop for a stranded motorist, or to offer help with maintenance and upkeep on virtually anything imaginable for family and friends. Always one to extend hospitality, Claude welcomed company to his home, offering an array of entertainment, including a large waterslide, golf cart, four wheelers, zip line, and a giant swing set. The family looked forward to and enjoyed the holiday gatherings in his home, a place of comfort where everyone felt welcome.
Claude married Leanna F. Jinks on September 25, 1993 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include one son Blain (Lindy) Clark, five grandchildren: Amea, Boone, Caroline, Liam, and Lucy, and his siblings: Daniel, Allie, Arthur, Marisa (Edward), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Claude was preceded in death by his daughter, Brianne Clark, on February 16, 2010. Never a silent bystander, his boisterous voice and large presence will be missed by many.
A celebration of life is planned for 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Topeka Bible Church, 1101 SW Mulvane St.
