Claudia Jane Jackson

Claudia Jane Jackson, 86, of Topeka, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Friday, August 22, 2025.

She was born August 28, 1938, in Larned, Kansas, the daughter of Herbert and Evelyn (Prosser) Applebaugh. She graduated from Olathe High School in 1956. She attended Kansas State College (University) from 1956 – 1958. She later attended KU Medical Center School of Nursing from 1958 – 1959.

Claudia chose to be a stay at home mom to raise her three sons. Once they began school she explored various employment opportunities culminating as a contract officer in the real estate industry in Salina and Lawrence.

Claudia was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church, of Topeka. She was an affiliated member of Christ Presbyterian Church in Telluride, CO.

Claudia married Norman E. Jackson on May 31, 1959 in Olathe, KS. Claudia is remembered with love by Norman, Gregory (Judy) Jackson of Parker, CO, Christopher (Amy) Jackson of Lincoln, NE, and Paul (Flavia) Jackson of Leawood, KS; grandchildren, Ryan & Rachel Jackson, Ashton (Tyler) Wagner, Hayden (Emma) & Andersen Jackson, Riley & Nicholas Jackson, and Raul & Melissa Jackson; and 1 great grandchild. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Bob Applebaugh and sister, Marilyn Hanlon.

Claudia loved sewing and designing jewelry, often sharing her beautiful creations with family and friends. A talented cook and baker, she brought people together around the table with her delicious meals. Her adventurous heart took her across six continents, many of those journeys with the Kansas State University Alumni Traveling Wildcats. Some of her happiest moments were spent in Telluride, Colorado, where summers and falls were filled with laughter, friendship, and cherished family time at the beloved family home.

A memorial ceremony will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, November 24, 2025 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 4746 SW 21st St, Topeka, KS 66604. Inurnment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka, Kansas.
