Connie Renee Brown

Connie Renee Brown, 45, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born July 16, 1979, in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Edward and Beverly (Schwarz) Brown. She graduated from Wichita Public School in 1998. She earned her certificate in business from OTAP.

Connie was employed by the Kansas Department of Revenue since February 2001. She began as a customer representative and would later become the senior representative, her final position was Customer Representative Specialist. She had a vast knowledge in what she did and was linked with various departments including the ABC. She didn’t just go to work, she built a second family there. The people she worked with weren’t just her coworkers, they were her friends who truly loved her.

Survivors include sons, Christopher, Aaron and Jory; daughter, Ashley; grandson, Zabe; mother, Beverly; sister, Angela Laurie (Donnie); brother, Randell Brown (Sunny); nephew, Eli; aunt, Janet Harrison (Bob), and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edward; infant sister, Paula; grandparents, Elmer & Isla Schwarz and Warren & Joy Brown; cousin, Daniel Schwarz; uncle, Ellis Brown; and aunts, Virginia Brown, Joyce Brown, and Linda Booth.

Connie loved her family and always looked forward to Sunday lunches together and play time with her grandson and nephew. She enjoyed socializing with coworkers and friends and was always there to give a helping hand or listening ear when needed. She enjoyed her daily coffee, reading a good book, taking long road trips, and in her younger years, and still to this day, getting her younger cousins in trouble.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 26, 2025 at Dove Cremations & Funerals Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka, KS 66610. Interment and Rosary will be held at a later date at St. Gregory Cemetery in Marysville, Kansas.
