Dallas Ray Storie

Dallas Ray Storie, born February 24, 1955, departed this world on July 21, 2026, surrounded by family and comforted by a beautiful rendition of “One Day at a Time.” His final moments were peaceful and reflective of the love that defined his life.

A proud graduate of Rossville High School in the Class of 1973, Dallas lived a life marked by devotion to family and the simple joys found in everyday moments. Dallas earned a better understanding of his community through his work at Miller’s Restaurant which also helped him through his time in high school. Early in his career, he brought warmth and camaraderie to his work cooking at Holiday Inn, where his talents in the kitchen were matched only by his kindness and generosity to those around him.

Dallas was a man known for his big heart. His presence filled a room not with extravagance or bravado, but with quiet generosity, a ready smile, and a genuine interest in others. Many fondly recall how he would rise early to make family breakfast, a cherished tradition that reflected his commitment to supporting and caring for his loved ones.

Life outside of work brought Dallas joy through his favorite pastimes. He was an enthusiastic supporter of Kansas City Chiefs football, rarely missing a game. The thrill of go-carting and the quiet fulfillment he found in fishing and family picnics provided him with laughter and relaxation, hobbies he shared generously with those close to him.

He leaves behind a loving and extensive family who will deeply mourn his absence: his sisters Roberta Smith, Marietta Lee, Desdmonia Watts, Judy Storie, and Erma Miller; his brothers Nathan Griffin, Charlie Griffin, Ronald Griffin, Van Griffin, and Gregory Griffin; as well as many nieces and nephews whose lives were enriched by his warmth and guidance.

Dallas is preceded in death by his mother, Anna Mae Griffin, and father, Russell Griffin; his brothers Clifford Griffin, Pete Griffin, and Ernie Griffin; and his nephew Judd Henry Smith. Their memories, together with the legacy of kindness and heartfelt devotion Dallas leaves behind, will be forever treasured.

Dallas Ray Storie’s steadfast love for his family and friends, his generous spirit, and his capacity for embracing life’s simple blessings are the gifts he leaves to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will endure in every shared story, every Chiefs victory, and every fish reeled in during a quiet afternoon by the water.
