Debra Sue Sayler, 72, of Topeka, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
She was born November 4, 1953, in Lawrence, Kansas, the daughter of Don and Phyllis (Buerman) Silkey. She graduated from Topeka West High School in 1971.
Debra was employed with John Hoffer Jeep Chrysler Dodge for many years and later worked with Knoll Patient Supply until retiring.
Mrs. Sayler was a member of the Grace Community Church, of Topeka.
Debra married Steve Matson on June 16, 1973 in Topeka. From this union Debra welcomed her sons, Charley and Wesley Matson. The couple would later divorce. She met and married Mike Sayler on September 15, 2001. He preceded her in death on September 18, 2024. She was also preceded in death by her father.
She is survived by her sons, Charley Matson & Wesley Matson both of Topeka; brothers, Bruce (Sue) Silkey and Brett Silkey; and many nieces and nephews.
Debra loved her family and friends. She had a deep love for cats. She was a woman of faith and always enjoyed attending. With her husband Mike, they experienced many camping trips and various car shows.
Services will begin with visiting time from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 2, 2026 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave, Topeka, KS 66605. A funeral in honor of Debra will begin at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Lawrence Memorial Park Cemetery, 1517 E 15th St, Lawrence, KS 66044.
