Della M. Becerra, 92, of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2024. She was born May 28, 1932 in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Samuel P. and Nellie L. (Coleman) Bachar.
Della grew up in Kansas City, Kansas where she attended public schools. She was employed by Macy's Department Stores. Della has resided in Topeka since 1993.
Della married John Becerra Jr. on November 17, 1949 in Kansas City, Kansas. He preceded her in death on December 28, 2005. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Theresa Becerra, one granddaughter, Lori Becerra and her siblings, Perry Janzen, Arthur Bachar, Marie Rhudy and Austin Bachar.
Survivors include children, Mike Becerra of Blue Springs, Missouri, Richard (Angie) Becerra of Rolla, Missouri and Anthony (Hildred) Becerra of Topeka, Sheri (Jimmy) Wiley of Topeka, Mary (Will) Peden of Topeka, daughter-in-law, Jan Belknap, six grandchildren, Richard Jr., James, Kelly, Matt, Jesse and Lacey, twenty-one great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
Della will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2024 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. Graveside committal services will follow at 11:30 a.m. in Mount Hope Cemetery, 4700 SW 17th St, Topeka, KS 66604.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, Kansas 66606.
