Delores "Faye" Howbert, 88, of Tecumseh, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026 at a Topeka hospital. She was born November 17, 1937 in Topeka, the daughter of Percy and LaVera (Roady) Humphrey.
Faye graduated from Berryton High School. She and her husband, Jerre farmed and ranched in the Tecumseh and Berryton Communities her entire life.
Faye married Jerre H. Howbert on March 18, 1956 in Stull, Kansas. He preceded her in death on March 26, 2019. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Laurence Young “Sonny” Humphrey and Naida L. Swallow.
Survivors include four sons, Shane (Kim) Howbert, Berryton, Skipper Howbert, Berryton, Stacy (Janell) Howbert, Tecumseh and Shad (Tanya) Howbert of Tecumseh, 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and her sister, Marsha Kennedy.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery southeast of Topeka. The family will receive friends from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2026 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association, 8001 Conser, Ste 240, Overland Park, Kansas 66204.
