Dewey Dean Ickard, 67, of Emporia, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2011. He was born March 22, 1946 in Stockton, KS, the son of Joseph and Gwendolyn Bruce.
Dewey attended Topeka Public Schools. He worked for the Shawnee County Sheriff's Department, Meier's Ready Mix, and Knight's trucking. He is survived by his wife, Peggy; children, Michelle Brooks (Harvey), David Cook (Chimera), Frank Kirtdoll, and six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Sat. August 27, at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, KS 66606. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
