Diana Marie Smith

Diana Smith, age 77, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026.

Born on November 4, 1948, Diana was a woman of immense kindness, love, and grace. She left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to cross her path. After years of dedicated service, she retired from Washburn University, where she made many lasting connections.

Diana found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid painter and cherished her lunch dates with her close circle of friends. Above all, her family was her world. She adored her cat, Romey and treasured every moment spent with her grandsons, Austen and Caden.

Diana shared an unbreakable bond with her daughter, Sara, who was not only her daughter but her absolute best friend.

She is survived by her daughter, Sara Herrin, and her husband, Matt; her grandsons, Austen and Caden; her sister, Linda Hulett; her nieces, Kim Hulett, Stacy Hulett, and Jami Hulett; as well as many beloved great-nieces and great-nephews.

Diana was preceded in death by her mother, Lucille; her father, Harold Breiner, the man she knew and loved as her father; and her beloved son, Jimmy. As well as her loving dog, Molly.

In accordance with Diana's explicit wishes, she will be cremated, and no formal services will be held. Her family asks that you honor her memory by sharing a kind deed or remembering a fond moment spent with her.
