Donald "Don" Lyon, 89, of Topeka, passed away Monday, December 12, 2022.
He was born December 18, 1932, in Clifton, Kansas, the son of Howard and Caroline (Hohr) Lyon. He graduated from Clyde High School and went on to attend Brown College in Salina, Kansas.
Donald married Betty Starkey on August 25, 1956 in Clyde, Kansas. She preceded him in death on February 26, 2022.
Survivors include his daughters, Shirley (Kloyce) Hamilton and Debra Anderson; grandson, Michael S. Anderson and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and siblings; Howard L. Lyon, Laura Rundall, Raymond Lyon, Doris Blackburn, Freda Jordan, and Estella Gardner.
Don enjoyed fishing and traveling. He served in the United States Navy serving in the Korean War.
Don had a strong faith. He was a past member of the Osage City Baptist Church.
A Graveside Service will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 19, 2022 at the West Lawn Memorial Gardens, 820 S.W. Auburn Road, Topeka. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Gardens, in Topeka.
