Doris Dale McGuire, 88, of Topeka, peacefully made her way to heaven on Sunday, July 20, 2025, surrounded by the same deep love she gave so freely throughout her life.
Born May 11, 1937, in Chillicothe, Texas, Dale was the daughter of Clifford and Jesse (Shellton) McGuire. From an early age, she carried a spirit of strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion - qualities that defined her life and touched everyone she met.
Dale dedicated her life to her family, her faith, her work, and her community. Alongside her late husband, Gene, she со-owned and operated Town & Country Roofing in Corpus Christi, Texas, for over 30 years - a business built on grit, integrity, and care. In 1991, she made Topeka her home, where she continued caring for others through her work in home health until her retirement in 2014.
Her love for Jesus was the steady foundation of her life. Whether lending a hand to a neighbor, raising her children, or offering a listening ear to a stranger, Dale lived her faith in quiet but powerful ways every single day.
Dale expressed her love most tangibly through food and hospitality. She made every birthday, holiday, and family gathering special with generous homemade meals and warm, welcoming tables. Her kitchen was the heart of every celebration - a place where love was served with every dish and memories were made to last a lifetime.
She is lovingly remembered by her seven children: Blaine (Debbie) Kremesec of Missouri; Jackie Jones, Michael Shugart of Topeka; Charles (Cindy) Boltinghouse Jr. of Texas; Joseph (Donna) Boltinghouse of Topeka; Sharon Konig of Texas and April (Steve) Montgomery of Topeka. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, as well as her dear siblings: Ruth Harrison, Linda White, Gary McGuire, and Carl (Nancy) McGuire and Meretta McGuire.
Dale was welcomed into heaven by loved ones who passed before her, including her Daddy, Clifford McGuire, Mother, Jesse McGuire, Step Mother, Velma McGuire, grandson, Jason Boltinghouse; her great-granddaughter, Cheyanne Sisemore; and her siblings: Troy McGuire, Clinton "CC" McGuire, Mickey McGuire, Don McGuire, Wayne McGuire and Charlotte Stinett.
Dale's family finds comfort knowing she is now reunited with those she missed so dearly, and that her legacy of love, faith, and devotion will live on in all who were blessed to know her. Dale will be laid to rest through private inurnment at a later date. Her family invites friends and loved ones to join in a Celebration of her Life on Thursday, July 31st, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Lake Shawnee Shelter House No. 3.
