Dorothy C. (Bauer) Harmon, 92, died Saturday, May 31, 2025 in her home in Wakarusa after battling Dementia.
Dorothy was born October 5, 1932 in Topeka, the daughter of Edwin W. Bauer, Sr. and Florence (Sheldon) Bauer. She attended Topeka High School.
Dorothy married Frederick L. Harmon, Sr. on September 15, 1951 in Huntsville, AR. Fred was a member of the U.S. Air Force and they made 18 moves during his career. They lived in Maine, Kansas, Lake Charles, Louisiana, Dover, Delaware, Indian Head, Maryland, Loan France, Dayton, Ohio and the Philippines. They retired in Kansas in 1969.
Dorothy worked at Denny’s and Kenny’s restaurants as manager from 1969-79 and started Dorothy’s Kitchen in 1980. She retired in 1999.
Moms loved crocheting and quilting, and enjoyed giving many of her precious items to family members and friends.
She was a member of Eastern Star, Helena Chapter 210.

Survivors include daughters, Debbie Culp (Dale Mykyte) of Houston, TX, Sheila (Gary) Langford of Amarillo, TX, Janice Esau of Wakarusa, KS and Fay (Tod) Peters of Topeka, KS; son, Fred L. Harmon, Jr. of Wakarusa, KS; grandchildren, Sean Culp, Blake Culp, Dustin Roberts, Gary Langford Jr., Ben Esau, Chas Esau, Nolan Peters, Austin Peters, Silas Harmon and Ariana Harmon; and great grandchildren, Zachary Culp, Carter Culp, Jackson Culp, Ritchie Roberts, Rachel Roberts, Ruby Roberts, Emily Langford, Audrey Esau, Ellie Peters and Jett Peters; nieces, Nancy Hampton of Huntsville, AL and Penny Barker of Clinton, MO. She was preceded in death her husband of 61 years, parents and brother, Edwin W. Bauer Jr.
A Visitation will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, June 6, 2025 at Dove Cremation & Funerals Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka, KS 66610. Celebration of Life will begin at 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 6, 2025. Entombment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Ave, Topeka, KS 66606.
