Duane Ralph Simpson

Duane Ralph Simpson, 83, of Osage City, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 28, 2025.

He was born January 19, 1942, in Concordia, Kansas, the son of Ralph H. and Leah L. (Beals) Simpson. He graduated from Miltonvale High School.

Duane spent most of his career as a heavy equipment operator finally retiring from the State of Kansas, Wildlife & Parks in 2005.

Duane married Judith L. Dewey on October 18, 1962, in Miltonvale, Kansas. Survivors include Judith L Simpson (Dewey) of Osage City, sons; Dewey D. Simpson of Salina, Darrell W. Simpson of Bethany MO; daughter-in-law, Janelle Simpson of Overbrook, Ks; grandchildren, Lex Staples, Meghan Simpson (& spouse), Caleb Simpson and Rachel Simpson; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Bernice Rice of Topeka. Duane’s parents Ralph and Leah preceded him in death.

Duane was a man of many talents, from projects in his shop to working with livestock. He loved to visit with family and friends sharing many stories about his life experiences and travels.

Duane’s wishes were for cremation and no services. Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society, 5720 SW 21st St, Topeka, KS 66604.
