Dwight Edward Norman

Dwight Edward Norman, 85, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2022.

He was born July 12, 1937, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Paul and Ann (Kampschroeder) Norman. He graduated from Topeka High and attended Washburn University.

Dwight was employed by Goodyear for 40 years, retiring in July of 1997 – forty years to the date after he started.

Mr. Norman was a Goodyear steward.

Dwight was married to Vana Lou Reade for 66 years. She survives, along with his children Mikel Fairbank (Bruce) of Topeka and Penny Hearn (Ed) of South Carolina; grandchildren Melanie Magathan, Melinda Roberts, Diana Wray, and Sara Norman; great-grandson Benjamin Magathan; and his sister Donna Scalf. He was preceded in death by his son Steven Norman.

Dwight enjoyed antique cars and farming – he was a tinkerer.

A funeral ceremony will be held on Friday, December 30th at 11:00 am at the Mount Hope Cemetery and Funeral Chapel, 4700 SW 17th Street in Topeka. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Mount Hope Funeral Chapel. Casual dress is preferred.
