Edna J. Glenn, 95, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022. She was born May 30, 1926 in Hanna, Oklahoma, the daughter of Robert and Minnie (Harjo) Carr. She was raised by Alva and Annie Harjo in Henryetta, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Muscogee Creek Tribe.
Edna graduated from Haskell Institute in Lawrence, Kansas. She was employed by Myron Green Cafeteria for eighteen years before retiring in 1985. She was a long time member and Sunday School teacher at Seward Avenue Baptist Church and was most recently a member of Still Waters Church.
Edna married Leon A. Glenn on December 30, 1949 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on September 11, 1992. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Beatrice and Bertha.
Survivors include one son, Douglas "Doug" (Debra) Glenn of Topeka, two grandchildren, Adam (Robbyn) and Carrie (Jonathan), and six great-grandchildren, Gavin, Colton, Avery, Jackson, Amelia and Violet.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. Edna will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2022 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Topeka Cemetery.
