Edward Huey Calhoun, 79 Years, of Topeka, passed away Friday, May 16, 2025.
He was born October 4, 1945, in Mobile, Alabama, the son of Willie and Creola Calhoun.
Edward proudly served in the United States Army, doing three tours in Vietnam. He was employed as a carman and welder for the Santa Fe Railroad in Topeka until retirement.
Mr. Calhoun has friends that he met at VA Colmry O’Neil Center, of Topeka.
Edward married Yong-Ae Kim on May 31st 1968. She preceded him in death in January 16th 2001. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and grandchild, Brandon Cork.
Survivors include his brothers, Augustus Abrams, Myron (Bobbie) Calhoun, Lenard Calhoun, Lester Calhoun, and Lee (Brigitte) Calhoun all of Mobile, AL, and Stacy (Janice) Calhoun of Barnsville, GA; and his children and grandchildren.
Services will begin with a visitation from 11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Monday, May 19, 2025, funeral service to follow beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Dove Cremations and Funerals Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka, KS 66610. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, in Topeka.
Memorial contributions may be made out to the Topeka VA Medical Center 2200 SW Gage Blvd. Topeka, KS 66622.
