Emma J. Jones

Emma Jean Tosatto Jones, 84, of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was born May 16, 1941 in Freeport, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Dominick and Lucia (Salto) Tosatto.

Emma graduated from Harbrack High School. She was employed by Lutheran Social Services & Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita, Ks & State Board of Indigents Services in Topeka, Kansas. She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her infant daughter Mary Elizabeth, her father, Dominck Tosatto, her mother, Lucia Tosatto, her brother Frances Tosatto her Brother Donald Tosatto and her son in law, Kerry Michell.

Survivors include her brother Joseph & Dee Tosatto of, Wadsworth Ohio her children, Christy Lezniak & Kim Michell of Cumming Ga, Brian Jones of Alburquerque NM, & Karen & Steven Miller of Topeka, KS. Her grandchildren, Morgan Michell, Hannah Smith, Alex Easton, Christian Michell, Emily Thompson & TJ Lezniak.

Emma lived out her early years in Natrona Heights, PA. She was a mini mom for her 3 brothers as her mother was employed at the local hospital.

Emma raised 4 busy kids and had a beautiful faith—a simple, steady, lived-out faith. She did Perpetual Adoration at her church, and the rosary was like an old friend she carried with her. She went on adventures with her friends, liked to try new things and never met a stranger. Traveling was an important part of her life although Emma worked hard and didn’t retire until in her 70’s.

She faced trials with grit and determination and sometimes even with a little humor. She was generous, humble and strong.

She was very loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A rosary and visitation will be held at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. on Monday November 24th. Rosary will be prayed at 5:00pm followed by the family receiving friends until 7:00pm

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 2700 SE Virginia Ave., Topeka, KS 66605 on Tuesday November 25th at 10:30am. A private inurnment service will take place at Resurrection Cemetery 1640 N. Maize Rd, Wichita, Kansas 67212.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Catholic Charities of NE Kansas www.catholiccharitiesks.org in care of Family Support Center in honor of Emma Jones. 9720 W. 87th St., Overland Park, KS 66212.
