Floyd E. Johnson, 91, passed peacefully to heaven on September 24, 2025, in Topeka KS, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 27, 1934 in Lambert Oklahoma to Guy and Hazel Johnson.
He attended school in Alva and Cherokee Oklahoma. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the army and served in Korea. He went on to have a successful 56-year career in commercial construction which included many years with Halsey-Tevis Inc., J.F. McGivern Inc. and Senne and Co. Inc.
He married Mary Frances Holcomb on September 1, 1956 in Wichita KS. Together they raised 2 daughters.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary, his parents, and sisters Wilma Sissom and Naomi Stauffer, and brother Clarence Johnson.
He is survived by daughters Melinda (Walter) Schoemaker, and Nancy (Michael) McCarter, grandchildren Leslie Gerstenkorn and partner Andrew Holliman, Erin (Hector) Medina, Collin McCarter, Sean McCarter and partner Jennifer Weidmer, and great grandson Cameron Medina. He also leaves behind the many friends he made while living in the Ventana Estates.
He was a long-time member of First Baptist Church Topeka, and the Faithbuilders Sunday School class.
Private graveside services are pending.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care in appreciation of the loving care Midland Hospice House staff provided our family.
