Francis Lawrence "Mac" McNeil

Francis Lawrence "Mac" McNeil, 65, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at a Topeka hospital. He was born December 2, 1960 in New Haven, Connecticut, the son of John and Virginia (Cummings) McNeil.

Mac graduated from Beckett Academy in East Haddam, Connecticut. He was an Air Force Veteran. He owned and operated his own construction business, prior to being employed by Thompson Coach. Mac was also a dog trainer for search and rescue. His dog, Valentine participated in the 9/11 event. He also was a Karate enthusiast, mastering the 3rd Degree Black Belt level. He traveled and participated in many Martial Arts events.

Mac married Joann Louise Daniel on February 2, 2023 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include four step-children, Ron (Melissa) Daniel, Jr., Rick (Dawn) Daniel, Larry (Jennifer) Daniel, Dawn (Rob Offen) Fleischauer, thirteen step-grandchildren, Alex Daniel, Kaleigh (Joey) Ginther, Justin (Liz) Daniel, Brandon (Maricela) Daniel, Shelby (Brian) Hatten, Scott (Kelli) Daniel, Tyler (Kelsi) Daniel, Hannah (Bryen) Lovelady, Clayton Daniel, Kendyl Daniel, Travis (Emily) Fleischauer, Cody Fleischauer, Austin Fleischauer, seven step-great-grandchild, Atlas Ginther, Finley Daniel, Orla Daniel, Chase Daniel, Kylnd Daniel, Kason Daniel, Amelia Fleischauer and one on the way.

A private Celebration of Mac's Life will be held at a later date. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.

Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family with service arrangements.
