Galen Andrew Cogburn, 60, of Topeka, passed away Monday, February 23, 2026 in his home surrounded by his family.

He was born December 30, 1965, in Lubbock, Texas, the son of Jerry and Carolyn (Davis) Cogburn. He graduated from Kirtland Central High School. He later received his Associate's Degree.

Galen was employed with the State of Kansas for 11+ years as a Software Developer.

Mr. Cogburn was a member of the Fellowship Bible Church, of Topeka.

Galen married Devanee Englant on April 14, 1990 in Bovina, Texas. She survives. He is also survived by his sons, Andrew (Elizabeth) Cogburn and Kyler (Carolyn) Cogburn; grandchildren, Densley, Tikhon, and Luke Cogburn; father, Jerry Cogburn; brother, Shane (Michelle) Cogburn; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Cogburn and his sister, Marlena Moore.

Galen loved spending time with his family especially playing online games with his grandsons. He had a passion for technology and was an impeccable programmer. In his leisure time you could typically find him reading, gardening, working on a wood project in the garage, or watching a basketball game. He loved his church and would often volunteer his time to help those in need. He enjoyed music and would reminisce of his time in the marching band playing the tuba.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at Fellowship Bible Church, 6800 SW 10th Ave, Topeka, KS 66615.
