Galen Robert Young

Galen Robert "Bob" Young, 75, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away Friday, March 27, 2026.

Bob was born December 2, 1950, in Washington D.C., District of Columbia, the son of Jimmy Cox and Peggy Schenneman. He entered the United States Air Force in 1970, and proudly served 24 years, retiring in 1994. Following the Air Force, he worked for the Missouri State Highway Patrol as a Driver Examiner Supervisor, retiring in 2018.

Bob was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Topeka.

Bob met his wife in New Brunswick, Canada, where they were married on March 27, 1975. She survives of the home. Other survivors include sons Timothy Young of Missouri, and Gregory (Heidi) Young of Topeka, Kansas; two grandsons Rylan and Harkin; and brothers Ralph, Michael and Keith Schenneman.

Bob enjoyed taking walks with his dogs, riding motorcycles, classic cars, listening to music, and above all else spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed worshipping and singing at church.

Cremation is planned. A memorial ceremony will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church at a soon to be announced date. Private family interment will follow at Ft. Leavenworth National Cemetery.
