Glenda Jean Bundy

Glenda Jean Bundy passed peacefully in her home in Topeka, Kansas, on September 18, 2026, with her family by her side. She was born on April 4, 1951, in Oswego, Kansas, and lived a life marked by devotion to her family, compassion for others, and a generous spirit that touched many.

Glenda graduated from Lawrence High School in 1969 and went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree from Washburn University in 1972. After obtaining her nursing degree, she began what would become a remarkable 40-year career as a specialty nurse for the VA of Topeka. Through decades of service, she brought skill, dedication, and care to her work, offering comfort and support to those she served.

She was a perfectionist in the best sense of the word, taking pride in doing things well and giving of herself fully. Glenda loved her flowers and found joy in making her home beautiful, especially during the holidays. Decorating her house for the season was one of her special pleasures, and her talent for crafting led her to create many decorations by hand for her own home and for the homes of others. She also loved singing, baking, shopping, gift giving, and playing tennis doubles. Many will remember the cookies she lovingly baked and shared, a simple but heartfelt expression of her warmth and generosity. Above all, family was always number one in her heart, and her proudest accomplishment was the family she loved so deeply.

She is survived by her son, Chris Strasser, and daughter-in-law, Trisha Strasser; her cherished grandchildren, Emili Strasser and Coleson Strasser; her mother, Dorothy Jeffries; and her sisters, Sharon Frink, Rebecca McGrane and her husband James, and Sonja Searl and her husband Tom. Each of them held a special place in Glenda’s life, and the love she gave to her family will remain a lasting gift in their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert V. Bundy; her father, Gerald J. Jeffries; and her brothers, Christopher Jeffries and Gerald D. Jeffries. Their memories remained with her always, and she now rests reunited with those who went before her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Topeka Baptist Church, 3301 SW Gage Blvd, Topeka, Kansas 66614.

Glenda Jean Bundy will be remembered for her caring heart, her giving nature, her creativity, and the love she poured into her family, her work, and the many thoughtful acts that made life brighter for others. Her memory will be treasured by all who knew and loved her.
