Helen I. Livingston, 97, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2026.
She was born October 15, 1928, in Atchison, Kansas, the daughter of Thomas and Leola (Lindsey) Houpt. Helen graduated from Seaman High School in Topeka, Kansas. She graduated Business college in Pennsylvania with a degree in accounting.
Helen held several accounting positions in Manhattan and Kansas City throughout the years.
Helen married Dwain Livingston on March 3, 1962, in Topeka, Kansas. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include sisters-in law Marilyn (Bob) Herr; Janice Houpt; step-children Diana (Steve) Pounds; Irene Benenati; David (Pamela) Livingston; 13 step-grandchildren; many step great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son Daryl, sister Dorothy, brothers Thomas, Gerald, Daryl "Clyde", Arthur, and step-son Robert.
Helen always held a special place in her heart for her dogs, as well as everyone else's dogs, and she did not know a stranger; she could talk to anyone. She loved living at Celebration Villa. They all were like family to her.
Cremation is planned, with private inurnemt at a later date.
Her niece, Roxann, would like to thank all the wonderful people they have met during their health journey over the last few years. At the end, all the staff at Heritage Grove and Midland Hospice were fantastic. All friends and family have been there through everything, and have provided so much support, and it is very much appreciated. Helen will be greatly missed.
