Irene Kay Hill

Irene Kay (Stillwell) Hill, 60, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

She was born April 23, 1965, in Hoxie, Kansas, the daughter of Chuck and Alice (Aumiller) Stillwell. She graduated from Hoxie High School and later received her Master's Degree in Social Work from Washburn University.

Irene was employed with the VA, Via Christi and a few other companies.

Irene married Mark Fernandes in 1985 but would later divorce. She met and married John Hill in the early 90's.

Irene is survived by son, Michael (Ashley) Hill and Matthew (Lauren) Hill; grandchildren, John & Chloe Hill and Aiden, Ashton, & Avalyn; brother, Charles Stillwell; and sister, Crystal Boyd. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Laurie Pfannenstiel.

Irene loved spending time with family especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed the fresh air getting out for walks and taking out her animals. She kept her mind sharp with her love for reading and kept her faith strong in her love for the Lord. She had a beautiful collection of lighthouse memorabilia. She liked socializing with the other housemates of hers, one of their many activities she enjoyed was getting her hair and nails done.

Irene was cremated so she could remain close to her sons. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
